Throughout her career, Melanie has written and collaborated to write several bills that are now Colorado laws. These laws span a wide range of topics. She has also several written resolutions and petitions. Melanie is skilled at navigating politics and has worked to ensure the success of many initiatives, candidates, and campaigns.

Melanie's extensive background as a community organizer has led to her involvement in many coalitions. She led and facilitated the Colorado Clean Slate Coalition, which passed the Colorado Clean Slate Act in 2021. She is a skilled community builder and organizer and knows how to turn people out to get the work done.

Melanie has created political agendas, press releases, and works with her clients to develop a communications strategy. She is skilled at developing moving messaging that brings people together to accomplish their visions. Melanie is also a skilled facilitator and has led strategic visioning sessions, power-mapping, and community-building sessions for many teams and organizations.

Melanie has trained over 500 individuals across Colorado on the ins and outs of the Colorado State Legislature. She additionally works with individuals from a trauma-informed lens and has supported people as they learn how to write, testify and share their stories. She firmly believes in centering stories as a powerful tool for advocacy and change.
